Recipe Basket is a local-first recipe app. This policy explains exactly what it does and doesn't collect. Short version: the free tier shows a single banner ad (non-personalized), we don't track you across apps and don't sell your data, Pro is ad-free, and the app is fully usable without an account.
Your recipes — titles, ingredients, steps, photos you link, tags and notes — are stored locally on your device. You can use the entire app (saving, importing from links, organizing, cooking, exporting) without creating an account and without your recipes leaving your device.
Cloud sync (Pro). If you turn on cross-device sync, you sign in with your email address. We store your email and a copy of your recipes on our sync provider (Supabase) so they can appear on your other devices. Your rows are protected by row-level security and are only accessible to your account. You can sign out at any time; local recipes remain on your device.
Subscriptions and credit purchases. Pro (sync + ad removal) is a subscription, and video-import credit packs are a separate one-time purchase — both processed by the App Store / Google Play and managed through RevenueCat, which records purchase history to unlock what you bought and restore it on your devices. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google — we never see your card. If you're signed in, a purchase is confirmed server-side (not just by the app) before credits are added to your account, to prevent fraud.
AI video import. Anyone can try this (a few free credits, then optional paid top-ups) — it doesn't require Pro. When you import from a cooking video, the link or caption you provide is sent to our server, which uses an AI model to structure it into a recipe. We don't use this content for anything else.
The free tier shows a single banner ad served by Google AdMob. We request non-personalized ads, so no advertising identifier (IDFA) is used and we don't track you across other apps or websites. AdMob still processes limited device data (e.g. IP address, device/ad info) to deliver and cap the ad, as described in Google's policies. Subscribing to Pro removes ads entirely.
Delete a recipe in the app to remove it (and, if sync is on, from the cloud on the next sync). To delete your synced account data entirely, contact us and we will remove your rows and account.
Recipe Basket is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
